INVITATION FROM ROME
./. The executive committee of the New Zealand University Senate met today, the Vice-Chancellor (Professor T. A*. Hunter) presiding. The degree of M.8., Ch.B., was conferred on A. P. Cotter, of (Dtago University. Reference was made to the invita- ""■ tion from Rome to send a representa- '"■' tive of the Senate to the opening of ' rj the new university buildings there by ■'•' Signor: Mussolini. It was decided to "^ send an address in Latin to the rector ■•• of the university, Studii Almae Urbis, •': congratulating the university on- the opening'in November next of the new "' buildings and regretting the Senate's l]_ inability to send a. representative to -'■ the function.
