Hutt by their win over Brooklyn in this round have once again won the A grade championship. They have a bye in the seventh <flnal) round and no team; can come within four points of their championship figure. This is the fourth successive occasion upon which they have won this championship, and in fact since 1929 there have been only two occasions upon which they were not successful, Aotea in 1929 and Harbour Board in 1931. In the . round to go there will be a contest between Aotea and W.W.M.C. for the position of runnerup: Both have sl.-c points; they meet Public Service and South respectively. ■There was- a slight improvement on the previous round, the forty-two riflemen obtaining" an aggregate of 2809 points, as against . 2865 In the previous round. The averages for the rounds were 68.31 and 68.21, as against • 68.10 and 67.19 in the same rounds last season. Hutt again made the highest team score. 483, and with Brooklyn the highest ocmbincd score, 965. which is the best recorded this season and only three points below the record, 968. Of the forty-two, riflemen:29 made scores of 68 or over, as against 32 in the previous round. There were eight possibles (seven in the previous round), eighteen C 9's (12), and three 6S's (13). There were also four scores of under 67. Of the possibles no less than six were secured in one match, that of HuttBrooklyn. These went to F." Ching and H. R. Keene (Hutt), E.'Bunting, G. Jensen. P. Chandler, and J. A. Westwood (Brooklyn). The other possibles were secured by L. R. Poutawer.a and A. R. Craig (Public Service). This is Keene's fltth successive possible and he has finished with an aggregate of 34S ex 350, making him the premier rifleman for the season. list of 69's, no less than six of the team making that score. Owing to the defeat of Railway No. 1 by Brooklyn in this round there is every likelihood of a. tie in Section 1." Railway Xo. 1 have it present a two-point lead in the section championship, but as they have a bye in the final round the next three teams, Brooklyn, Petone Central, nnd Petone Ladies, have all a chance of equalling their score. ■ Brooklyn meet South in the next round and Petone Ladies and Petone Central meet each other. It is therefore, very probable that one of the latter teams will tie with Railways. In _the event of one or more teams tieing, the interclub schedule committee will decide the draw for the shoot-off,, and this will bo given at the same time as the results of the seventh round. In Section 2 "Evening Post" look like being successful. They defeated Hutt, who up till this round were level with them, and have yet to meet Railway-No. 2.. . _ Thero was a rather severe decline in tho standard of shooting for the round. It fell to the lowest recorded this season, 64.08, but even then is above that of. the same round last season. The average for the previous round was 64.79. ■■• ■ , The highest team score-was 463, recorded tiy Brooklyn, while the. highest combined score was 928 by Brooklyn-Railway No. 1. ■■■ Of the: eighty-four riflemen 3d obtained scores of 66 or over. There were 3 Possibles (2 in round 5), two 69's (6), eight 6S's (9). ten 67's (11), and- twelve 66's (16). The possibles were secured by Mrs. Cook (Railways), D: Harrison (Brooklyn), and J.
