GREAT INCREASE IN OUTPUT , (By Telegraph—Press Assn.—Copyright.) ' LONDON, August 12. '. The Berlin corerspondent of the "Financial News" says that world production of staple fibre during the last few months has increased even faster than that of artificial silk. A total of 28,540 metric tons was produced in the . first six months of 1935, representing an increase of 75 per cent, over the corresponding period of 1934. Japan- produced 11,350 tons, Italy 7560 tons, Germany 5520 tons, France 1475 tons, and Great Britain 1455 tons. Further increases are planned. The "Financial Times" says that official intervention has reduced the price of "vistra" fibre from two marks a kilogram to 1.80 marks. Monopoly and cartel agreements between producers and consumers have been suspended.
