"AU REVOIR!"

A delightful bridge evening was given recently by Mr. and Mrs. E. M. Pankhurst, in honour of Miss Olive Jackman, who will leave this week for Auckland. Yellow spring flowers and foliage decorated the rooms, and bright fires added to the comfort of the guests, who were received by Mr. and Mrs. Pankhurst. Mrs. Pankhurst wore a frock of black chenille with a coatee of cherry velvet. Miss Jackman wore black ring velvet with silver trimmings.

~ A delicious home-made savoury sup-, per was served in the dining-room, after which Miss D. Holloway, presented Miss Jackman with a fountain pen from her girl friends, and Mr. Graham Andrews voiced regret at Miss Jackman's departure and wished her every success in her new sphere.

The prizes for bridge were won by Miss Jackman arid Mr. R. H. Shearer.

Those present included Mr. and Mrs. G. R. Andrews, Mr. and Mrs. A. P. Brittain, Mr. and Mrs. W. E. Caldow, Mr. and Mrs. C. S. Godber, Mr. and Mrs. G. R. Jackman, Mr. and Mrs. G. C. Mitchell, Mr. and Mrs. R. H. Shearer, Miss D. Holloway, Miss W. White, Mr. B. Irvine, and Mrs. J. D. Spedding.
