PERSONAL NOTES

Mrs. H. Clementson, who has been spending three months in Sydney and Melbourne, returned to Wellington this morning by the Marama. Her daughter, Miss V. Clementson, is remaining in Sydney, where she has taken a position. Mr. and Mrs. H. L. Holden (Gisborne) are staying at the Royal Oak Hotel. Mrs. Coleridge Farr, Cashmere Hills, Christchurch, is visiting Wellington. Mrs. Welton-Hogg, Lower Hutt, returned by the Marama this morning from a visit to Australia. Mrs. McDonald, Wellington, is visiting Christchureh, and is at present staying with Mrs. T. W. McDonald, Opawa. Mrs. H. Pollock and Miss Nathalie Pollock returned to Wellington from a visit to Napier, where they were the guests of Mrs. N. Solomon. Mrs. M. M. Heinemann,, Buller Street, left for Auckland yesterday afternoon on a visit to her parents. Mrs. E. Hatrick arrived in Wellington this morning by the Marama from Sydney. Mr. and Mrs. R. S. Ferguson, who have resided in Wellington for a number of years, have left for Invercargill, where they will reside in future. Recent Wellington visitors to the Chateau Tongarirb included Miss H. Harper Allan, Mr. J. Bristed, Lieut.Commander Hewson, Mr. E. L. Mead, Mr. A. H. Bolton Poole, Misses Gellately and Murphy, Mr. and Mrs. Wheeler, Captain and Mrs. Webb, Miss Matthewson, Captain Morris, Mr. and Mrs. Duncan, Dr. and Mrs. H. M. Phillips, Miss W. Ling, Mr. R. M. Firth, Mr. W. L. Middlemass, Mr. M. Spiers, Misses D. and K. Ainscough, Mrs. Morris Jones, Mrs. Daysh, Miss Micklewright, Mrs. R. Hudson, Misses H. E. Young and G. Usher, J. Denby and G. Humphreys, Mr. and Mrs. J. Gray.

Miss A. Dennis, who is visiting her sister, Lady Clifford, Cashmere Hills, Christchurch, will leave Wellington by the Marama on August 9 for Sydney, en route for Naples. Mrs. J. T. F. Mitchell, Epsom, has returned to Auckland from a visit to Wellington. Mrs. Schneideman (Christchurch), Mrs. C. C. Douglas (Waimate), Miss C. B. Abbott (U.S.A.), Mrs. E. C. Holmes (Featherston), Miss M. Johnstone (Waipukurau), and Mrs. Hamish Wilson (Bulls) are staying at the Midland Hotel. Mrs. Allen, Mrs. Amies, and Miss P. Murphy (Gisborne) are staying at the Grand Hotel. Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Atkinson and Miss C. Atkinson (Waiau), Miss P. Gunn (Gisborne), Miss F. McKinnon (Sydney), Mrs. A. M. Satterthwaite and Mrs. J. D. Simpson (Christchurch), and Mrs. Peter Lake (London) are staying at the Hotel St. George. Miss J. Thomson (Palmerston North) is staying- at the Royal Oak Hotel.
