SURGEON'S FLIGHT
Mr. A. 'Simpson-Smith, a Harley Street surgeon, flew from Croydon, to Guernsey recently to, perform, ah., important operation, returned to London at night, and at once hurried to a London hospital to perform a second operation, He left Croydon at 9 a.m. and the operation was performed in Guernsey at noon. A special aeroplane was kept in readiness at Guernsey to convey him to London, in case, owing to the holiday traffic, it would be impossible to accommodate him on the ordinary service. The distance from London to Guernsey is about 200 miles.
