BRITISH AND FOREIGN

Since protective tariffs have teen adopted by Great Britain a number o£ commercial agreements have been negotiated with foreign countries—some of which are competitors in the British markets with New Zealand. Trading agreements having no specified period of operation but terminable as indicated, are as follows:—Germany, agreement terminable at three months' notice; Netherlands, modus vivendi terminable at three months' notice: Soviet Union, temporary agreement terminable at six months' notice, partly on three months' notice.
