WELLINGTON V. WAIRARAPA

A strong-Wairarapa. side is/to ~be.-se.en in: action- at Athletic -Park -tomorrow afternoon against .Wellington's representatives in.the first of the inter-pro-vincial Rugby football matches to be played in Wellington this season. The visitors will include "several players who were in the running for the New Zealand team, notable among them being Stringfellow, Laing, and Trass. Others also well known to followers of the game' in;. Wellington are Fuller and Reid,, and there will be special interest in Fuller's appearance as Wai,'rarapa's full-back. Fuller is acknowledged to be a wonderful place-kick, .and in the past he has collected many points on Athletic Park. Wellington's representatives also ■ include several who were strong candidates for the New Zealand team, and the side has a good sprinkling of players who have already made their mark in big football. Two seasoned campaigners in Lilburne and Pollock will be operating as fiveeighths, and there will be a solid set of forwards to meet Wairarapa's strong pack.
The m.atch should provide plenty of entertaining football. It is timed to start at 3 p.m., and the teams will line up as follows:—Wellington: Crisp; Wright,. Fleming, Ball; Pollock, Lilburne; O'Halloran; Hull, Ongley, Leahy,. Wells, Barry, Fraser-Smith,-Lynch, '. and Lamason; emergencies, Baldwin, Greenbank, Donnelly, Roberts. Wairarapa: Fuller; Buick, Stringfellow, Mason; Fitzgerald, Himona; Nunn; Reid, Flutey, Gaudin, Grantham, Laing, Trass, D.evine, Ward; emergencies, Stroud, Clark, Ross, and Walker. The referee will.be Mr. A. de Clifton. An early match,, commencing at 2 p.m., will be played between the first fifteens of the Hutt Valley High School and the Technical College.
