Squadron-Leader White, with Mr. Bryan Armstrong, from Palmerston North, saw smoke up a creek about 20 miles clue west of Norsewood between two ridges. The aeroplane circled and lost the smoke. It reported at Takapau about 12.50 p.m., and two other machines immediately left to investigate.
