SALE OF WAREHOUSE
AUCTION AT AUCKLAND
(By Telegrapli—Press Association.) AUCKLAND, July1 19. Within a few minutes the warehouse, of P. Hayman and Company, Customs, Street East, was sold'at public auction to the Farmers' Co-operative Auctioneering Company, Limited, the price being £8050. The opening bid was for £6500, the price'rising quickly by amounts of £250, and. then by amounts of £100 to £'8000. ; A" rise, of £50 closed the transaction. '
The general-opinion was that an excellent property had been obtained for a favourable price. The warehouse, which has road access at the back, is only GO yards from Queen Street. The building, which is of'.brick;'is'of .'four stories and a basement. The.property; with a frontage of-99 ,'feet -to Customs Street East, is held on lease from the Auckland. Harbour Board'for-a term expiring in 1948 at,an annual rental of £370, with half compensation for the building at the-end ',of. the lease.'- A new lease can be obtained if desired.
