LODGE MEETINGS

1.0.0.F, ; NZ. Te Atamai Encampment (Lower Hutt).—The annual installation of officers of Te Atamai Epcampment took place recently, when Pat. G. F. Rudkin, Grand Warden, was the chief installing officer. He was assisted by Pats. J. C. E. Turner,'ft. Mathers, F. Dales, S. Kay, P. Lee, W. Jarvis, E. Miller, E. Mailey, and WVReilly. Among those present was Pat. D. Smillie, of Palmerston North, Deputy Grand Sire of the 'Encampment Order and Bast Grand Master of New Zealand. The following officers were installed: —C.P., Pat. Batten; H.P., Pat, J. Pearson; S.W.; Pat. A. Oliflf; J.W>, Pat. J. MePhee; recording secretary, Pat. S. Bocock; treasurer, Pat. Fi Henry; 1.G., Pat. A. Bargh; guide, Pat. G. Bugg; Ist watch, Pat. S. Kay. At the termination of the ceremony an installation supper took place, at which the following toast list was;: honoured: — "Grand Lodges of Australasia and New Zealand," proposed by Pat. Bargh, response by Pat. D. Smillie, P.G.M.; "Te Atamai Encampment,". Pat. Rudkin, reply Pat. Batten; "Port Nicholson Encampment," Pat. Pearson, reply Pat. Jarvis; "Installing Team," Pat. Kay, reply Pat Rudkin; "Visitors," Pat. -McPhee, reply Pat. Dales. Port Nicholson Encampment.—The annual ladies' night was held on July 15, when the Allen Street lodgeroom was crowded with members and representatives of kindred lodges and other friendly society orders. Pat. H. Hardham acted as M.C., and Sister W. Jarvis, with the assistance of the C.P., was hostess. During an interval the Grand Warden, Pat. G. F. Rudkin, presented a C.P. jewel to Pat. R. J. Mathers, the immediate past C.P. Exhibition dances/were given by Miss Dorothy Daniels and her pupils. Ngati-Awa Lodge (Woburn).—-Bro. A. Cohen was the presiding officer. An invitation was received from the Manchester Unity Order of Oddfellows in connection with a future function. 'It was decided to suggest an alteration of the date. Bro. Cohen reported on. attending a meeting of past grands., MANCHESTER UNITY ODDFELLOWS. . Loyal Masterton Lodge.-ißro. W. Palmer presided. Eight new. members were:initiated, six also joining the Manchester Unity Hospital Association. Four friends were proposed for membership. . ■'.''.' Tararua Past Grands' Lodge (Pahiatua).—Bro. L. Angelini presided over a good attendances of past grands from Eketahuna and Pahialua districts. The Most Honourable Purple Degree was conferred on two candidates, Who were also admitted to membership .of the lodge. Reports were received from Bro. A. E. South in connection, with a recent visit to Manawatu Past Grands' Lodge and from Bro. G. Willingham, respecting the annual meeting .of the Manchester Unity Hospital Association. The election of officers for the ensuing term resulted as follows:—President, Bro. G. Willingham; vice-president, Bro. R. Yewan; immediate past president, Bro. W. M. Morriss; secretary, Bro. H. A.: Bick. The installation ceriemony was carried out by Bro. H. A^ Bick, Past President. ' . / '« ■_ Loyal Combination Lodge.—Sister L. Gandy presided. Invitations to socials were received from Newtowri.' and Britannia Lodges. After the " lodge had closed a game of bowls fort the Cook Pins was played and resulted in a draw. "■'-■', „ v~r Loyal Kilbirnie Lodge.—Bro. ;W. Arcus presided over a fair attendance. Bro. L. H. Levy installed Bro. Jackson into the position of guardian. Two visiting brethren, Bros. Mosely (Afttipodean Lodge) and Bro. W. Levy (Britannia Lodge) were accorded Lodge Honours. At the conclusion members and visitors enjoyed games of cards. .. .. '■ ■ ■ ■. \ Loyal Rose of the, Valley Lodge (Lower Hutt).—Bro. E. S.. Hewer presided over a good attendance. An ■invitation was received from the Britannia Lodge to a dance. Bros. Little and Seddon reported on the first meeting of the new Juvenile Lodge. An offef was received from Petone Lodge of a: loan of regalia for the Juvenile Lodge.! The offer was gratefully accepted. Thjev initiation ceremony was. rehearsed*, Bro. G. A. H. Hall (financial secretary)! was accorded a vote of thanks for the donation of a gas heater for the lodge room. One new member was nominated. Dancing terminated the evenins Loyal Petone Lodge (Moera Branch). —Sister E. A. Rushton, Noble Grand, presided over a good attendance. Bro. G. A. Westbrook presented Bro. A. M. Wilson with a purple collar on behalf of the Lodge. Bro. Seddon, of Rose of the Valley Lodge, gave an interesting talk on the Juvenile Lodge wbicbwas recently formed at Lower Hutt. Bro. W. A. Pemberton reported on a visit to the Wellington Past Grand's Lodge. An invitation was extended to members of Petone Lodge and NgatiAwa Lodge, the latter of the I.O.O.1:, New Zealand, to attend a social evening next lodge night. After lodge had concluded members enjoyed cards, ping pong, and indoor bowls. 6RDER OF DRUIDS. Poneke Lodge (Petone).—A.D. Bro. Nicholson presided over a good attendance. The Bards reported on sick brethren and relative accounts were passed for payment. It was resolved to accept an invitation to attend Divine Service at the Methodist Church, Petone, on Sunday, August 11. Bro. ,A. L. Williams submitted a comprehensive report of the proceedings of the recent annual meeting of the Dispensary Board, which disclosed that the board is continuing its policy of maintaining a high standard of service to members and the public generally. After concluding business of a formal nature, members enjoyed a closely-con-tested game of indoor bowls in which a rink skipped by Bro. Clarke narrowly defeated a rink skipped by Bro. Mahancy.

To celebrate the anniversary of the commencement of the popular Sunday night activities in Nimmo's Concert Hall, a special "birthday" meeting will be held on Sunday night at 7 o'clock. Mr. P. H. O'Donriell will deliver an interesting address on "The Last Battle."
