UPPER HUTT QUEEN CARNIVAL
Considerable interest is being}', taken in Upper Hutt in connection tvith a queen carnival that is being Ijjald to raise funds for the Upper Hutty Bowlling, Croquet, and Tennis Club.. The queens are Miss Rene Swansoi> bowling, and croquet; and Miss Inti Braid, tennis. - , /
The opening concert and ctemce introducing the bowling and ( croquet queen was held in the Drufcds' Hall on Thursday evening. Theifc was a crowded attendance. The chijd pupils of Miss Belhamine, of Trenttvam, greatly pleased with their exhrttftion ■ of dancing, little Master McOrne receiving special applause. The ijfcems given by the orchestra were mu<Si appreciated, Mrs. F. Whiteman, .off Riverslea, being at the piano. Mrs. Cleaver pleased with a solo. Exhibition dances were given by Mr. and Mfs. Wallace.
■ The queens were introduced by Mr A. G. Mumby, president of the club.
The organiser was Mr. .jr. H. Brown and the M.C. Mr. F. Hants. Supper was presided over b;g Mesdames McHattie, Benge, Greigj and Harper, assisted by bowling merrfrers.
An enjoyable evening J of dancing was concluded with the .Ringing of thu National Anthem. ' ;
