LOSS TO THE CHURCH
THE LATE REV. W. MAWSON
The recent death in Wellington of the Rev.' W. Mawson, Foreign Missions secretary of the New Zealand Presbyterian Church,-was the subject of the following minute recorded at last evening's meeting of the Wellington Presbytery:—"The Presbytery of Wellington places on record its deep sense of loss in the passing of one who has served the whole Church and particularly the missionary interests of the Church with such outstanding devotion and steadfast faithfulness. The Presbytery gratefully recalls the deep humility of his spirit, the kindly sincerity of his friendship, and the unstinted measure.of his service: The mainspring of his character and service was his love and loyalty to the LordJesus Christ. To Mrs. Mawson and her family the Presbytery extends its loving sympathy and prays that they might find hope and comfort and peace in God's abiding . presence.".
