EABAUL SHAKEN
FAIRLY SEVERE EARTHQUAKE
RABAUL, July 8,
Although no material damage was caused, Rabaul was fairly severely shaken by an earthquake yesterday. Rumbling sounds similar to thunder preceded five severe shocks, each of which lasted several seconds. They were followed by sustained swaying movements.
