FARM MORTGAGES

THE ADJUSTMENT BILL

MR. WILKINSON'S ADVICE

(By Telegraph—Press Association.)

ELTHAM, This Day.

Mr. W. A. Wilkinson, M.P.(Egmont), speaking at Kaponga last night, stated that farmers were apparently, reluctant to avail themselves of the Mortgagors Final Adjustment Bill. It was stated, he said; that reputable solicitors in Taranaki were advising, clients. not to avail .themselves of the Act. He, however, solemnly advised farmers who were in financial difficulties not to accept such advice without full consideration of the consequences and not to enter into any voluntary settlements that would not allow a reasonable chance of success and provide for reasonable working and living conditions.

He said that when in doubt farmers should take full advantage of the Act which Parliament had provided in order to assist them in their financial difficulties.
