LONDON, July 6.
The South African cricketers commenced a match against Nottinghamshire at Nottingham today. Notts won the toss and batted. The county scored 312 runs and captured three Souch African wickets for 54 runs before stumps were drawn. ■ Hardstaff was at the wickets for 220 minutes for his score of 154, and hit nineteen 4's. He gave two difficult chances, otherwise he was faultless. Except for Mitchell the South Africans were uncomfortable against Voce. Larwood's pace was impressive, despite his short run. Mitchell should have been caught in the uully off his third ball. Details:— NOTTINGHAMSHIRE. First Innings.
