ROME, July 6.
Speaking at Salerno, Sign or Mussolini declared that Italians have always defeated blacks. "Our decision regarding Abyssinia is irretrievable," lie said. "Italy is writing another page in history." Referring to Aclowa, he said that 4000 Italians there fought madly against 100,000 Ethiopians, but the Italian Government then had been more preoccupied with Parliamentary squabbles than with troops. Today all Italy was behind her sons in East Africa. It is now stated that the announcement regarding the Italian naval increase refers to efficiency. The increase in strength will be made after a conference with France. ESCAPE FOR IL DUCE. Lightning struck a seaplane, piloted by Signor Mussolini, while flying to Salerno to review Black Shirts embarking for Africa. The wireless operator fainted. The machine was not damaged. Mussolini's sons, Vittoria, aged 19, and Bruno, aged 17, recently qualified as pilots and have enlisted for service with the Italian Air Force in East Africa.
