BIG LONDON FIRE

TWO FIREMEN KILLED (Received July 8, 9.30 a.m.) : LONDON, July 7. While firemen were fighting a big dockside fire at Poplar a wall crashed, killing two firemen and injuring a third. Their comrades dashed into the debris and recovered the bodies. The fire involved a three-storey sack factory. Two hundred firemen, sixty engines, motor pumps, ladders, and other appliances were requisitioned, and firefloats operated from the Thames. The roof of the factory collapsed with a noise like thunder.
