ROYAL COLLEGE OF SURGEONS
— ♦ At an ordinary meeting of the Council of the Royal College of Surgeons, held on June 13, Sir Holburt Waring (the president) was in the chair, and presented to the college the golden key with which he performed the opening ceremony of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons at Melbourne. Diplomas of Fellowship were granted to a number of candidates, among whom were Jack Carl Rudolf Hindenach, M.D., Ch.B., N.Z., Otago and SI. Bart's; Clive Reginald Lambert, M.8., Ch.B., N.Z., Otago and Guy's. At the primary examination for the fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons of England, held during May and June, 222 candidates presented themselves, of whom 84 were approved. The successful candidates: included D. W. Ashcroft, M.8., Ch.B., Otago, Middlesex, and University College; E. H. W. Gifford, M.8., New Zealand, Middlesex Hospital; D. P. O'Brien, M.8., New Zealand.'Otago; A. S. Gray, M.8., Otago University College.
