DEATH FROM INJURIES

WELL-KNOWN DUNEDIN MAN (By Telegraph—Press Association.) DUNEDIN, July 7. On Friday evening, Mr. Henton Macaulay Davey, aged 84 years, was knocked down by a motor-car and received severe injuries to the legs and left arm, as a result of which he died on Saturday night. Mr. Davey had been a prominent resident of Dunedin for a long time, having carried on the business of architect, engineer, and patent agent for 58 years. He was associated in the designing of St. Joseph's Cathedral and the Excelsior Hotel, Dunedin. He was, also interested in the construction of various dredges, in Central Otago. He is survived by1 a family of five sons, Mr. A. G. Davey (Pukekohe), Captain Davey (R.M.S. Moriowai), Mr. C. E. Davey (Wyndham), Mr. I. Davey, (Wellington) and Mr. F. M. Davey, who is at present in England, and three daughters, Mrs. J. C. Bishop (Wellington), Miss A. L. Davey (Wellington), and Mrs. D. Barron (Foxton).
