CANDID STATEMENTS
DAIRY BOAED AND N.D.A
A NATIONAL CONFERENCE
(By Telegraph—Press Association.)
PALMERSTON N., This Day
Candid statements to the effect that remits passed by the National Dairy Association conference could not receive recognition unless they came through the official channels of the Dairy Board's ward conferences, were made at the Middle Ward conference of the board.
Without disparaging the very useful work of the N.D.A. conference, said Mr. A. Linton, a member of the Dairy Board, it had been decided that there must be one national conference held in Wellington each year—that had been fixed by the board for the third week in September—to bring to finality the representations from the industry. "Numerous remits are submitted to the N.D.A. conference, but nobody knows where they go afterwards," Mr. Linton added.
Mr. C. P. Agar, deputy chairman of the board, said there was no desire to interfere with the N.D.A., but the board was of opinion that the conference could not be officially recognised, as it would be too disturbing and interfering too much with the newly-constituted board, which had made'up its mind that the only approach to it could be through its own official conference following the ward conferences.
