HAVING proved from the Scriptures during tho course of lectures ("Turned unto Fable*") concluded last Sunday that the fundamental doctrines of the Churches of Christendon are not taught in the Bible, and therefore constitute the "fables" predicted by Paul (2 Tim. 4:34).. this Sunday's lecture will be devoted to a consideration of some o£ the passages of Scripture usually quoted in support of siu'Ji "fables" as (a) the doctrine of the Immortality of the soul:, (b) conscious-ness in death; (c) heaven-going at death; (d) hell-fire torments, etc., when it will be shown that the passages quoted can be explained in harmony with" the true teaching of the Holy Scriptures as contended for in the recent course of lectures. The passages which will be particularly considered are:— 1, Christ's words to the thief on the cross. (Luke 23:3943). 2. The parable of the rich man and Lazarus. (Luke 16:19-31). 3. Paul's "desire to depart and to be with Christ." (Phil: 1:21-23). 4. Paul's words—"Absent from the body . . . present with the Lord." (2 Cor. 5:1-10). 5. Christ's words—"ln my Father's House are many mansions." (John 14:1-3). 6. Any'other passage advanced at question time. Questions invited.
