The British Medical. Association has elected Lieut.-Colonel Sir James William Barrett as president for 1935-36.

Sir James Barrett was knighted in 1918. He is Vice-Chancellor of Melbourne University and lecturer on physiology of the special senses. He is a consulting oculist to the Hoyal Australian Navy and several civilian institutions.
