A dog, following its daily custom, went to a butcher's shop in Calgary, Alberta, to get a bone. The shop was closed. The dog barked, in protest. Its owner, John . Riddock, was summoned for allowing the dog to wander at large. The Judge, giving his verdict, said: "A purposeful' dog, in law: ful pursuit of his business, cannot be charged with 'wandering at, large."
