SOUTH AFRICAN WAR VETERANS

The monthly meeting of the executive committee of the Wellington South African War Veterans'; Association was held at the headquarters of the association,29 Hunter Street," on Thursday evening. Captain C. F. Bishop presided.

Deep sympathy was expfessiea- with the relatives of the late Major-General Sir Alfred Robin, Major Davey,, and Sergeant Leckie. Sir Alfred. Robin was patron of the association, and his death came as a great shock. He was always deeply interested in the association's welfare, but owing to failing health was unable to take part in the various functions. The members stood to attention in memory of departed comrades.

The president was appointed as the association's representative on the committee' of the Carillon Society.

Mr. Bernard Groom, of the Ninth Contingent, was elected a member bt the association. V
