Results in the first round of the match play in the Leeds £750 professional golf tournament included: — Compston defeated Jolly, 4 and 3; Jones defeated Robertson, 4 and 3; Jarman defeated Taylor, 4 and 3; Alliss defeated Padgham at the nineteenth: Easterbrook defeated De la Torre, 1 up; Busson defeated E. Whitcombe at the nineteenth.
Second Round.—R. Whitcombe defeated Jones, 1 up;" Green defeated Branch, 3 and 2; Cotton defeated Compston, 3 and 2; Cox (Saffron Walden) defeated Jarman, 1 up; Alliss defeated Ward, 1 up; Davies defeated Denny, 5 and 4; Easterbrook defeated Cox (Addington), 3 and 2; Busson defeated Burton, 1 up.
