TRANSPORT PROBLEM
TRAMS OR BUSES
A member of the executive of the Wellington Ratepayers' Association remarked at a meeting of the executive last night, that in spite of all that had been Mid in favour of the Wellington tramway and bus systems there was something wrong when, year after year, certain of the suburbs, such as Melrose, Mornington, and parts of Roseneath, complained of the ineffective transport system serving the district.
After considerable discussion upon various aspects of the bus v. tram controversy, the meeting passed a resolution appointing five members as a sub-committee to study the transport problem as it affects Wellington, and bring down a report to a further meeting. The committee was instructed to approach the civic and other authorities who may be in a position to supply data for consideration.
