PARTY POLITICS

(To the Editor.)

Sir, —The reply made by "Opposed to Disunity" is a mass of loose statements and self-contradictions, and I can dealt with the main points only. He admits that Commissions show the ineptitude of our leaders.and yet he supports them. Comment is needless. "As for party politics, these will remain with us as long as the freedom of the individual is not completely destroyed." So, party politics are essential for the freedom of the individual. Again comment is needless. The correspondent desires two and only two parties. I have tried my best to show him that parties are a denial of the very first principle of democracy—that a nation of free men be united by a common faith. It seems a useless task trying to convince him that something is wrong, for, in the name of democracy and freedom, he is adamant in upholding chaos and despotism.—l am, etc.,
