Does the fall of the Government also mean the fall of the franc? is the question exercising everyone's mind. M. Bouisson has accepted the task of forming a Ministry "of the widest union." - • The Socialists inconclusively discussed their attitude towards a new Ministry until after midnight, and will meet again this morning. M. Lebrun was conferring with M. Herriot and M. Pietri as late as 3 a.m., after which, M. Bouisson was closeted with.the Socialist leaders, on the question of their participation. It is announced that certain financial houses have already been sealed with a view to a search for .evidence against speculators. The Bourse reopened this morning. (Received June 1, 10.35 a.m.) PARIS, May 31. M. Herriot provisionally accepted M. Bouissoirs invitation to join the Cabinet. . . The Socialists refused, but state that it is necessary to defend the franc. < The Exchange market is very quiet. Financial circles are pleased that the political crisis has come to a head. Many bankers believe that the market will turn directly the Cabinet is formed. ... .. . M. Bouisson is expected to demand full powers to defend the franc.
