FIRST SCREW-STEAMER
The Edina's log-book, as well as a series of coloured and black-and-white plates, are features of a book published recently on the 81st anniversary of the launching of the world's oldest screwsteamer, the Edina. The Edina has had an adventurous career as a transport during the Crimea War, on' the Melbourne to New Zealand service, and on the coastal service to "Western dis-trict-ports along Victoria's south coast. She. once used sails, and still uses them when wind and water favour their use. Mr. Dickson Gregory is the author of "The Romance of the. Edina," which is in the hands of Robertson and I Mullens.
