CLUB NOTES
The Palmer Cup race, which was to have been run by the Wellington Harriers this afternoon, has been postponed on account of the Indian hockey match. Mr. Watterson, chairman of the Wellington harrier sub-committee, commended the action of the Olympic Harriers in bringing together delegates from other clubs on a purely social visit. . A. Buchanan, who was expected to be well to the fore in the Scottish Harriers' race, could not make the pace as a result of being unable to attend training. . \ "•Ml'iCooke, former champion of the Wellington Harrier Club, is beginning to .show signs of form. He will have to excel if he is to regain the laurels this season. C. Chalk will make. a record-breaking pace, and W. Allen is showing signs of championship form. • I. Hulme, a newcomer to the Olympic Harrier Club, showed good judgment when he finished in fourth position in the Grand Memorial race. The University Harriers' annual contest for the Sherwood Cup, which takes place on June 8," has brought some of the less enthusiastic members out on the trail. M. O'Connor, last year's club champion, has made his first appearance, and will have to look to his laurels to outrun some of the new members, who have been showing exceptional promise. :
