CROSS-COUNTRY RELAY
A FORT.Y-NINE-MILE RACE

CHRISTCHURCH, This Day.
Over 100 competitors participated in today's cross-country relay race from Cashmere to Akaroa, of 49 miles, the biggest of the kind yet held in the Dominion. The race is being run in eight stagejs, with eight men in each team. The first competitors should reach Akaroa about 3 o'clock. :
