PRISONER ESCAPES

AUCKLAND, This Day,
A prisoner named William Brewer, aged 51, escaped from the Express near Huntly early this morning while being brought from New Plymouth to the Mount Eden Prison. No further details are available.
He is stated to be wearing a grey suit, grey felt hat, tweed overcoat, soft collar and tie, and black boots, making a presentable appearance.
