A 30 miles race from Kilbirnie was held by, the. jPoneße Cycling* Club. Tbe course compused two laps of the Breaker Bay Cutting route* and one lap of the tunnel circuit.- A limit of 16 minutes made the task of. the scratch riders, L. Walsh and F. Blackett, difficult, especially with a 3%----mmutc break between ithem and the next bunch, but they maintained a good steady pace 'and returned the-best times. In a burst of speed* at the 'finish it looked as if Walsh would take the decision, but Blackett spurted and took the time honouis by inches. ,The winner of, the handicap was J. Barnsley (Bmm), who took Stalin. 37sec.< The .rest of the field crossed the line maunder three minutes, | which reflected': credit:on the handicapper. Aftei the first 10% miles the scratch [pair- had returnedvthe'fast time of 27min 35sec, having gained half a minute on the 3%' miii group,1 who< in 'turn had made the same gain on the smm gjoup, to whom the Smin two, Barnsley aud D. Rose, had lost 190 seconds. • . h

After, round two was commenced the 5 and 6-minute groups were together, while the 3%-minute andtscratch riders had both gained a small maigin. 'The duel for first place was between Barnsley (Bmm) and Piunti (smin), the decision going to Barnsley. C-.Spaikes (smm) was third, and then case. Ces. Ericsson aud J. Boulton.
