"' • GENOA, May 10. Giving its decision in connection with the notes salvaged from the sunken liner Egypt, the Court decided that the salvagers were entitled to £1600, but must restore the rest of the notes to the State of Hyderabad.
The "Daily Express" reported that it has recently been discovered that £500,000 worth of rupee notes were on the Continent. Inquiry showed that these had been sahaged from t»ie Egypt How the notes <:ame into circulation was a mystery.. The owners of the salvage ship Article- Ij lodged a claim at Milan for £500 000 from the underwriters who paid for the gold and silver salvaged, but refused to pay for the rupee: notes.
