RELIGIOUS SERVICES. T OO.K HALL,, ALLEN STREET (Opp., Paramount, Courteriay Place.) THE'SIXTH LECTURE Of the series under the title of "TURNED UNTO FABLES" . ; Will be delivered (God willing) in the above Hall on SUNDAY at 7 p.m. When- further evidence will be produced from the Scriptures to show that the false and contradictory doctrines of the Churches of Christendom literally fulfil the following prediction of' the Apostle Paul: "THE ; TIME WILL COME WHEN THEY WILL NOT ENDURE SOUND DOCTRINE . . . THEY SHALL TURN AWAY THEIR EARS FROM THE TRUTH, AND SHALL'„ BE TURNED UNTO FABLES." (2-Tim. 4:34, see also 2 Pet. 2:1-2, Luke 18:8, Isa. 60:2, Isa. 25:7, Jer. 16:19; etc.) The subject will be: • "SUBSTITUTION— A FABLE." BIBLE TEACHING in contrast to the erroneous doctrine of substitution is:— (1) THAT by nature man is under condemnation to death—"lN ADAM"— "alienated from the life of God"— "without God and without hope in the world." (Rom. 5:12, 1 Cor. 15:22, Eph. 2:11-12, Eph. 4:18, etc.) (2) THAT this natural condition can only be changed by conforming to the conditions prescribed by Christ when He plainly and definitely said: "HE THAT BELIEVETH THE GOSPEL AND IS BAPTISED SHALL BE SAVED." (Mark 16:15-16, Gals. 3: 27-29, Roms; 6:3-0, John 3:5, 1 Pet 3:21, Acts 8:12, Acts 8:36-39, Acts 16: 30-33,, Acts 1S:8, Roms. 1:16, 1 Cor 15:2, etc.). , ' (3) CONSEQUENTLY Christ did not die INSTEAD of sinners, but for the obedient believing only; i.e., in the words of Paul, "He became the author of eternal salvation ■ UNTO ALL THEM THAT OBEY HIM." (Heb. 5:9. John 15:13-14, John 10:1-9, Rev. 22:14, Matt. 7:21, Matt. 28:20, Johu 10:27-28, Rev. 5:9, Rev. 14:4, Acts 15:14). ' Questions invited. No collection.
