UNPROVOKED ASSAULT
For- what was described by SubInspector Hoach as an unprovoked assault on Henry William Corrick, Hugh Akehurst, ■ a labourer, aged 23, was fined £1 by OMr. J. H. Luxford, S.M., in the Magistrate's Court today. The Sub-Inspector-said that the assault occurred in . Wakefield Street last evening. When- passing Corrick on the footpath Akehurst twice pushed one of his companions. into him and then struck him on the eye and knocked him out. Corrick had to.go to the Public Hospital." to have the eye stitched., Akehurst was well under the influence of liquor. . The Courtcostsamountedto £1 Bs.
