The recount has been completed at the Petone Borough Council offices for all the local bodies to which the district sends representatives, except the Harbour Board. Various changes have been made in the totals, but in no case has a change been made in the elected personnel as announced on Wednesday night. Among the unsuccessful candidates for the Petone council, Messrs. Clbad and Booth have changed places. The final figures are as follows:— Mayor.—A.' Scholefield 1266 (elected); J. W. McEwan 1052, J. A record was made for the Petone Borough Council when one team of two deputies handled 400 voters for six,issues, making a total of 2400 voting papers'. The previous record was a total of 1825 voting papers, made up of 365 voters handled for five issues.
