KIDNAPPED REFUGEE
PROTEST TO GERMANY
VIOLATION OF TERRITORY,
(Received May 10, 1.30 pjn.) ■.. PRAGUE, May 9. The Czechoslovakian Government has instructed its Minister in Berlin to protest against the kidnapping of a German refugee, Joseph Lampersberger, an ex-member bf the Reichsbanner, on the ground that it involved a violation of Czech territory. The Government demands Lampersberger's release and the punishment of the kidnappers. Lampersberger was kidnapped in daylight on April 29 from the Czechoslovakian platform at Eisentein, a frontier station, by four armed German secret police, who dragged him off unconscious to Germany. Lampersberger fought wildly, whereupon a Czech Customs official attempted to rescue him, but was struck down when a Bavarian gendarme wielding a rifle assisted his compatriots.
