Prosper 'Ea!ston, a Canadian, visited New Zealand to collect paua. shells. -He secured four thousand shells, and look them to Englan.3/ where he used them in conjunction with a displuy .of opals- which he was offering for.Kale.. Mr. Ralston is again visiting New Zealand' and he- stated today that for the first three-Vdajis the shells Were on .display his opal sales did not flourish' but he sold all of the paua shells peopie in.
