REGATTA ON THE BULLER

WESTPORT, April 21.
The rowing regatta on Saturday on the Builer I'iver was attended by a large crowd. Kawaliri (Wostport) won the Gothard and llarley Cups from Xelsou in the annual contest, _ but the Xeleon youths defeated Kawaliri for the Jonea Cup for youths. In the Alkin Cup races the Kawatiri No. 1 crew (W. Craddock, J. Corbwhley, Jv Harding, ana J. J. Woodward) defeated Picton and Blenheim, and lifted the trophy for the first time.
Hundreds of Kee.se fell from the clouds at Vesisprern, Hungary, and were picked tip by the inhabitants. The birds were wild geese, a no' it i? thought that they must have become exhausted while <>v their way to wanner climes.
