ARRIVAL OF FOXBRIDGE
, Ihe stallion Foxbridge. recently secured ni England by Mr. L. S. Otway for his Xrelawney Stud, Cambridge, arrived in ■■he -Dominion by the Rangitata, now at W "eiJingtpn, and he will continue north to Auckland on Tuesday, where he will be unloaded. One of Mr. Otway's brood mares is Lady Marie, who, mated with the defunct Gay Shield, a stallion who was owned by Mr.- C. Matthews, of Hamilton, produced those three highclass horses, Gay Sheila, Gay Blonde, and Uoy Sheik, and it is probable that this mare will be one of Foxbridge's first mates.
A member of the No. 14 Bruce Lowe lamily, Foxbridge is a good-looking horse standing 16 hands. He is a live-year-old /English time) bay horse by the Ascot Cup winner Foxlaw (by Son-in-law) from Bridgemount (dam also of the One Thousand Guineas winner Cresta Run), by Bridge of Eran from Mountain Mint, by Spearmint from Adula, a sister to Pretty Polly and a half-sistor to Veneration 11, dam of the disqualified Uerby winner Craganour. As a three-yenr-okl, lie won the Atlantic Cup, £2500, IV* miles, at Liverpool, and he finished third to Loamingdale and Firdaussi in the Eclipse Stakes VA miles.
