CHARITABLE BEQUESTS

(By Telegraph—Press Association.) AUCKLAND, April 9. Nine charitable and, religious institutions will benefit by the will of Mr. Norman McDonald, an old resident of Whangarei Heads, who died on March 16, aged 83. The will provides the following specific legacies, amounting to £1030:—British and Foreign Bible Society, £200; Auckland Ladies' Benevolent Society, £200; Leslie Presbyterian Orphanage, £200; New Zealand Institute for the Blind, £200; Auckland Hospital Board, £80; Whangarei Hospital Board, £100; and St. James's Presbyterian Church, Auckland, £50. All the legacies are to be paid free of estate or succession duty. The residue of the estate is to be divided equally between the Manurewa Children's Home and the Anglican Orphan Home at Papatoetoe. It is estimated that each will receive about '£1000.
