INTERESTING RECEPTION

A representative gathering of people who take a keen interest in the work of the League of Nations Union and lof all the efforts being made in the ' world outside for peace and prosperity, took place yesterday afternoon, when the branch of the union in Wellington held a reception at which the guests of honour were Miss V. M. Greig (principal of Wellington Girls' College;, Professor Wood (Chair of History at Victoria University College), Professor Belshaw (Economic Adviser to the Minister of Finance) and Mrs. Belshaw, Mr. P. Fraser, M.P. (who will leave shortly to attend the conference of the Empire Parliament) and Mrs. Fraser. The reception room was artistically decorated with many dahlias, both of the loose-leaved and closefolded varieties, all being well arranged in their pastel shades with good effect. Mr. P. J. O'Regan, chairman of the branch, presided. Afternoon tea was served. Mrs. R. O'Regan gave a vocal solo and Mrs. H.
