WELLINGTON EAST GIRLS' COLLEGE

The 10th annual report of the Wellington East Uirls' College Parents 1 Association, which will presented at the annual meeting this evening, pays particular tribute to the continued interest dis- . played by members of the Association and of■ the - Ladies' Auxiliary. The latter body raised £82:8:, towards the funds of the Association. It is mentioned that at the beginning of the year farewells were given to Mrs.W.E.Jackson and familyMr. Jackson was President from 1930 to 193U, and at a social evening a memento was presented to Mr. anaMrs. Jackson in recognition of their fine service. All the trees planted on Arbor Day (revived at the .instigation. or-Jirß.ltopx QUmer) are sported to be doing well, donations having come from the Board or Governors, Hiss Batham, Messrs. T. Waugh sad Sons, James Bell, and parents and pupils of the College. It has been proposed by the President of the Ladies Auxiliary that an Honours Board be instituted at the school to record all the scholastic achievements of pupils. Reference is made to the sealing of the drive, to improvements to Paterson Street, and to the'installation of four extra tanks for the water supply (making,2ooo gallons instead of U00) with the object of obviating shortage. The College Hall fund now stands af£3lU:O:U. The Executive wishes Miss Collins, Miss Batham 1s first assistant, many years of,happiness in her retirement-
