POSSIBLE RESTORATION IN NEW SOUTH WALES

SYDNEY, March I.

Replying to a Public Service deputation, the Premier, Mr. B. S. B. Stevens, said that the effect upon the Budget for this year of easing Public Service salary cuts in the grade between £180 and £300 a year would be examined for the guidance of the Government.

Mr. Stevens added that he believed that if the upward trend in business continued and the public accounts maintained the steady improvement of the last two years, the Government would be able, after July 1 to modify substantially the provisions of the salaries reduction legislation.
