AT OXFORD IN JULY
The Empire' aummer schools of ths Hoyal Empire Society : (17 Cavltcn House Terrace, London, SWI) 'dsaw many visitors from overseas,- and an attractive programme has been arranged for the third school, to be held at Oxford from Jiily 13 to July 27 next.: The jubilee celebrations will just have taken. place, and to mark the' occasion Sir John Marriott will give an address on "'The Crown," and Sir Walter Lawrence will, with his Majesty's permission,; speak .on "The King." Sir Walter was chief of his Majesty's staff when, as Prince of Wales, he visited India. , The other speakers .will include ' two' British Cabinet Ministers (Mr. Runcirrian and Mr. Oliver Stanley), the, Solicitor-Gen-eral (Sir Donald Somervell), three ex : Ministers (the Marquis of Lothian, Lord . Amulree, and' Sir Arthur: SteelMaitlahd), Lord^ Bledisloe (GovernorGeneral of New^Zealand),' Sir Edward Grigg "(a fofrrier Gdverndr'of Kenya), Sir. Alan, Anderson , (chairman. of the Orient Line),, Professor R.Coupland, Mr.. Handley. Page. Admiral. Sir Howard Kelly; Sir Arnold Wilson. Sir Louis Franck (a foiTner Minister of the Colonies in ■Belgium), and Mrs. Alfred Wattl Members of the school will be lodged in Wadham,, St. John's, and Somerville Colleges, and no doubt many, people going to England shortly will,welcome the opportunity of spending a week or a fortnight in an Oxford college.
