Mrs. Charles Mack gave a delightful party at her home in Brougham Street, in honour of Mrs. A. J. Mack, who is leaving shortly for England. Novel competitions and music were the order of the afternoon. Several charming songs \*ere sung by Mrs. W. Duncan, Mrs. J. F. Woodward, and Mrs. A. S.1 Mitchell.

The drawing and dining-rooms were decorated with gladioli and zinnias, fruit, ices, and a delectable afternoon tea being served in both rooms. The hostess received her guests wearing a becoming frock of-rust-red lace. The guest of honour wore a pretty saxe blue frock and hat. Miss Claire Mack, who assisted her mother, wore black panne .velvet and, touches of turquoise blue. A very pleasant afternoon was spent in the Hotel St. .George on Monday last, when a number of friends gathered to wish bon voyage to Mrs. A. Hawkins and Mrs. G.
