STORE SHEEP RECOVER
(By Telegraph—Press Association.)
FEILDING, March 1.
Prises for:6tore sheep made a sharp recovery today, when close on 25,000 were yarded, including several thousand' above ths advertised numbers. There was quite a keen inquiry for store lambs, even lower qualities fetching higher prices. A complete clearance; was made, with some buyem left without requirements. The market for breeding ewes also improved. Highest prices were 2s 6d to 3s a head better, though this was partly on account of the better class offered. Good growth of grass, following copious rains, brought about the improved tone of the sale. Good breeding e:vye6 were still in demand, especially young ewes. Fat sheep pi-ices were firm at schedule rates, with a good all-round sale. There was a small yarding of store cattle, with some inquiry for- empty heifers and also for steers; The fat cattle market was better. Dairy breeds, fat, were up 10s to 15s. Best o.i fetched about 225, best cow 17s per 1001b. ..-.''
