The Home Office announces that the King has approved the Jubilee celebration programme in London as follows:— May 6.—11.30 a.m.: Their Majesties and the Royal Family will attend a thanksgiving service at St. Paul's driving from Buckingham Palace to the city. In the evening the King will broadcast a message to the Empire. Boy Scouts will light a chain of bonfires throughout the country. London will be illuminated and floodlit May .9.—Their Majesties will drive to Westminster and receive the addresses of Parliariaent. May 11.—The Prince of Wales will represent the King at a ceremony at Cardiff. The Dukes of York and Gloucester will similarly deputise at Edinburgh arid Belfast respectively. May. 12.—Thanksgiving services at the Churches, for which the Archbishop of Canterbury is drawing up an order applicable to the Dominions. May 22.—Their Majesties will attend a reception ball at the Guildhall, enabling the Dominions' representatives! :to meet their Majesties with greater' freedom than at a banquet or luncheon. July 6.—The King reviews the Air Force at Mildenhall and Duxford. July 13.—The Kin£ reviews troops at Aldershot. July 16.—The 'King reviews the Fleet at Spithead. , . . July 20.—The King inspects police at Hyde Park. Their Majesties, weather permitting, will drive to different parts-of London-on the afternoons of Saturdays, May 11* May 18, May 25, and June B.■'.'•' , The Lord Chamberlain announces that the King will receive the Diplomatic Corps and Empire' representatives on May 8. There will be State dinners at Buckingham Palace on May 9 and May 20; State balls on May 14 and June 13; a garden party on July 25; King's levee on May 31; investitures, July 9 and July 10. It is understood that the investitures are for the recipients of Birthday Honours and also Jubilee Honours, which are expected. The Home Secretary, Sir John Gilmour, in connection with local celebrations, suggests-a fete, street decorations, and illuminations, and entertainment of children. ' - -
